On the morning of October 13, 2018, the alumni of the Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Department, who entered South China Agricultural University in 1978, invited the former leaders and teachers to gather on the third floor of the Wen’s Building to hold the 40th anniversary teacher-student symposium. They shared the friendship between teachers and students and expressed their gratitude. Wu Yatai, secretary of Party Committee of College of Animal Sciences, and Wu Shantian, secretary of Party Committee of College of Veterinary Medicine, were invited to attend the symposium. He thanked the alumni for their contributions to the development of the animal husbandry and veterinary industry in colleges, schools and even Guangdong. They reported on the discipline construction of two colleges, the construction of faculty, scientific research and internationalization, personnel training, and college-enterprise cooperation. In terms of achievements, he said that these achievements were inseparable from the efforts of several generations of alumni of College of Animal Sciences and College of Veterinary Medicine, as well as the persistent endeavors of the teachers present. Finally, he expressed his wishes that everyone enjoys good health and College of Animal Sciences and College of Veterinary Medicine give birth to talented people from generation to generation with a long-term success.
Subsequently, the alumni representative of the Class of Animal Husbandry, Cui Jianzhi, delivered a speech. He expressed his excitement when he saw the teachers again after 40 years. He thanked the teachers for their support and help to him for many years and thanked the leaders and students for their efforts in the success of this symposium. He also introduced his deep love for preparing the commemorative album. The alumni representative of the Class of Veterinary, Zhong Fenjun, expressed his gratitude to the motherland, university, teachers, and classmates. Wang Hao, the representative of teachers and former vice president, said that the students entered the university 40 years ago were the pride of our time, because they were the first batch of college students after the college entrance examination resumed. The teacher’s greatest gratification is to witness the students’ achievements. He wished alumni to continue to shine in all walks of life, and create new achievements!
